Star Trek Attack Wing Enterprise The original Series constitution class unboxing

Coming to add some support to the Federation faction for Attack Wing is the original `60s series Enterprise. It is as you can see very very small.  Certainly not in scale.  But then the game is not so I don't mind too much.  It is still a cool little ship and brings back memories of watching the original series as a youngling.
Standard blister pack with the federation symbol on the front.
What else is in the pack?

Xwing Z-95 Headhunter Unboxing

Rebel Reinforcements arrived for my daughter to bring to the table top to fight my Imperial forces.

The Z-95 Headhunter was a starfighter designed jointly by Incom and Subpro Corporations years before the Invasion of Naboo. Its resilience and longevity meant it remained a staple of private and low-priority government starfighter forces long after its introduction.

Down to business, what comes in the packet?

Star Trek Attack Wing Bioship alpha species 8472 unboxing

We dive back to the Delta Quadrant to take a look at Species 8472, and there fearsome Bioships.
The bioship was an organic vessel that was used by Species 8472 and had a similar genetic makeup to their pilots. The bioships, and Species 8472 themselves, were resistant to assimilation by the Borg and carried an extremely powerful weapon that could destroy even Borg vessels easily. The bioships contained a series of vein-like conduits which carried electrodynamic fluid, possibly for use as an energy source.

Eight of these ships could collect and combine their firepower, using an energy focusing ship, which enabled them to fire a blast so powerful it could destroy a planet. When the Borg entered fluidic space, they were forced back by this resistance. Defense against these ships was found by the crew of USS Voyager, in the form of modified Borg nanoprobes.

So what do we get in the ship pack? lots of goodies that's what.....

A fun bit of history

My grandfather was a quartermaster with the US Navy in the Pacific Theater on the USS Eldorado (above). Part of his duties involved paying officers and crew ("Every two weeks I was everybody's friend"), which extended to visiting personnel if they were onboard during payday. While moving some months back, I found a box full of his paperwork and other Navy things. Among other fun things (like a price list for the ship's store), I found this notecard...
...showing that Vice Admiral Turner was paid $885, check please and thank you. For all of his attention to record keeping, I can't help but notice Papa didn't put a year down. Oh well.

Unfortunately what with being across an ocean, it's a bit difficult to get back into that box and post more of what's in there. In due time, in due time.

Star Trek Attack Wing IRW Valdore Romulan Warbird unboxing

Arriving to aid the Romulan Star Empire in its fight is the Valdore classed Warbird.  A great looking ship first seen in the film Nemesis it looks mean and hawk like, and is the largest model I have yet with good detail.
The usual blister packaging, I will find an easy way to get into these one day!
a bit of fluff on the back.
In the year 2379, two Valdore-type starships assisted the USS Enterprise-E in attacking the rogue Reman warbird Scimitar in the Bassen Rift.
Among these ships was the Valdore - under the command of Commander Donatra. Both ships were critically damaged during the battle. (Star Trek Nemesis)

Similar in design to the D'deridex-class warbird, the Valdore-type was a large, fixed-wing vessel. Ships of the class had a color scheme of dark-green or brown.
With a wingspan roughly 900 meters wide, the vessel featured a large section extending forward to create a down-sloped head shape. Warp nacelles were connected at the end of each wing with impulse engines mounted aft. The hull was marked by distinctive "feather" shaped plating. (Star Trek Nemesis)

Ships of the Valdore-type featured several forward-mounted disruptor banks located on each wing and some on the forward section of the ship. It had at least one forward torpedo launcher able to fire four torpedoes for each recharge. (Star Trek Nemesis)

Star Trek Attack Wing Ni'Var Vulcan Suurok class ship unboxing

The Ni'Var is a Suurok-class starship. The Suurok-class is a Vulcan science vessel and combat cruiser. It has a cylindrical hull with a circular nacelle that allows it to reach speeds of Warp 6.5 and greater.
Under the current command of Captain Sopek, the Ni'Var was sent to retrieve T'Pol for her involvement in the destruction of the monastery at P'Jem. After learning that she and Captain Jonathan Archer of the Enterprise NX-01 were captured by the Andorians, Captain Sopek led a commando raid and helped rescue the two prisoners.  Which is the influence for this ships mission

As you can see its not a very large ship, but it is quite nice looking.  The Vulcans are a new faction in Attack wing with currently 2 retail ships.  I do look forward to seeing more.
So lets dive in to what comes in this ship? and are Vulcan ships any good?

Star Trek Attack Wing 100pt Federation Vs Hirogen Battle Report

Well the masses have spoken, and we have delivered.  Some of our loyal readers stated they wanted to see battle reports so here is our first one.

Featuring me and my friend Pete playing a 100pt game of Attack Wing.  First lets take a look at the fleets that went up against each other.

Being a fan of the feds I took the Federation.  my first ship being a Generic old Constitution class with a free captain and Miles on board as I had a free 2 points, and thought he could come in handy.
Next up came USS Voyager, with a free captain to save points, and Tom Paris to upgrade its manoeuvrability.

Star Trek Attack Wing Hirogen Alpha hunter unboxing

Continuing our stay in the Delta quadrant we look at another of the latest ships for Star Trek Attack Wing.  The Alpha Hunter for the Hirogen race in the Independent faction.
The Hirogen are an alien culture encountered by USS Voyager. Who's society is based on the hunt of prey, the prey being anyone they encounter.  The more worthy the prey the better. Claiming trophies to show the kill, and the more trophies you have, the higher your standing in their order.
Time to see whats in the box

Star Trek Attack Wing USS Voyager Federation ship unboxing

Today we look at one of my Favourite ships in Star Trek. The USS Voyager Intrepid class.
You get so much extra goodies in this ship they had to redesign the clam shell to fit it all in!

With fifteen decks, a length of 343 meters, a crew complement capacity of approximately 160, and weighing in at 700,000 metric tons, Voyager was only about half the size of the Galaxy-class starships introduced in the 2350s. However, what the Intrepid-class starship lacked in physical size...
