Xwing Storage Solutions

Just a quick post today, relating to something Morgan said about organising my Tokens.

Star Trek Attack Wing Prototype 01 Romulan Drone ship unboxing

This is a great looking ship, very different from the "norm"  It comes from the "Enterprise" era.

The Prototype 01 is a Romulan drone ship. These ships are piloted by the Aenar, who were kidnapped and forced to control these unmanned vessels from a tower on Romulus. The Romulan drone ship is capable of taking on the appearance of any vessel using its multi-spectral emitters to created a holographic projection. Armed with triphasic emitters, this ship can mimic the weapons fire of the alien vessel as well.

Another view of this ship....
It comes with plenty of goodies to customise it and add some more needed variety to the romulans. So whats in the box? lets take a look.....

Warlord Games Bolt Action Panzer IV... in plastic!

I've missed the hobby, what with leaving all of my things for it back home. Luckily, Mart is a jolly good fellow (Ha! - Mart) and sent a few models my way to build and paint. Oh happy days! Since I haven't bought any parchment paper to make a wet palete with (painting is just unbearable without one)(man up! - mart), I turned my sights to the big bad tank kit: Warlord's new plastic Panzer IV F/G/H.

Since it will be serving Mart and his Bolt Action Germans, (hopefully well - Mart) he requested that it be fitted as the late war variant: Panzer IV Ausf. H. And quite rightly so! The "H" is the variant with the wicked cool, space-age looking spaced armor on the turret and sides. I was a little apprehensive about putting them together when I looked at the sprues, but they turned out well. Read on, let's talk about this kit!

Star Trek Attack Wing IRW Khazara D`deridex Warbird build

The Romulan warbird is one of my favourite looking ships in Trek, so I was looking forward to seeing what I could do with this in game. Sticking with the Rules of my previous builds as in no more then 50pts in total I started seeing and came up with this build.....

The Warbird is a very mobile ship, and can cloak and do sensor echo (barrel roll for those Xwingers out there) and has a 2 reverse move being the only red one!.
I picked the Named ship the Khazara, as she gives you an extra attack dice if you fire when cloaked,

Speed Painting Warlord Games Plastic Americans for Bolt Action.

I’m not a great painter, I am the first to admit that, but I wanted to get my guys looking at least acceptable for tabletop standard, and I wanted to do it quickly.  So I painted these guys using my Flames of War US paint set, gunmetal grey, beige brown, flat flesh and that old favourite of mine Devlan Mud.  And I thought I would show you guys how I did it to prove anyone can do it and get it looking good.
I’ve broken down my method here into steps, so you can see how quickly and easily a “Tabletop” standard army can be done.  They aren’t going to win any Crystal Brush awards, but at arm’s length they aren’t too shabby, and can be achieved by anyone with a minimum of brush control.

I did these in batches, and painted 45 US infantry in 4 evenings, so you can really churn these out quickly and get them waging war on the tabletop faster than ever.

First things get your hobby zone set up, and your models primed. I went for black; some folks swear by white for priming, it’s all personal preference

Star Trek Attack Wing USS Enterprise D Galaxy class ship builds

In Attack wing they state that for tournament builds no ship and upgrades should cost more then 50 points together, meaning its hard to super stack mega ships. Which is a good thing. for scenario or fun play I have no issues with the eggs in one basket approach, but thought it was good for keeping in check to use that ethos of 50pts max when building a ship.

Firstly we start with the Federations Galaxy class.  I have not covered generics, as they tend to be 2 points less then the named ships, with usually 1 less shield and no ability so its not often worth taking them over the named ones unless you want lots of the same ship.

Anyway the Enterprise D is up.....

As you can see the galaxy class is fast in a straight line, but not very manoeuvrable at all.  The movement guide is handy to keep with you and I like that it Is printed on card so you don't have to just keep spinning your dial.
Whats in the build then?

Star Wars Xwing YT-2400 Freighter Outrider unboxing

Ever since the days of my beloved Nintendo 64 and a certain Star Wars game called Shadows of the Empire, I have been a fan of the YT2400 that Dash Rendar, star of the game and also in this ship now.  I am really excited by the ship.

The YT-2400 light freighter was a YT series light freighter produced by Corellian Engineering Corporation similar to the YT-1300.
Dash Rendar's Outrider was a heavily modified YT-2400 freighter, and perhaps the most famous example of the starship amongst fringers

Favored by smugglers, the starship featured the YT series trademark saucer-shaped hull and

Star Trek Attack Wing IKS Negh`Var Klingon War ship unboxing

Warping in to reinforce the Klingon Empires fleet comes the Negh`var.  A ship suitable for hairy Blood wine swilling warriors with honour! and of course much yelling of Qapla', and assorted Klingon insults.  The Klingons are close to my heart in Star Trek, so im looking forward to letting this ship loose on the table
The I.K.S. Negh'Var is the flagship of the Klingon Empire and is commanded by the extremely effective General Martok. It has led several Klingon invasions and has won much honor for the Empire. The Negh'Var us surprisingly maneuverable for its large size. It can also target an enemy ship's shield generators in order to facilitate a massive boarding action against that ship.

So whats in the box?
