Arkham Horror The Card game Curse of the Rougarou print on demand expansion pack
I am a big fan of the Arkham Horror Card Game, and when the print on demand pack Curse of the Rougarou came out, I wanted to try it. I have not tried any of the print on demand products before, so this article is a bit about what the pack is (no spoilers as you get no player card only encounter and scenario ones) and also about my thoughts on the product itself rather than an in depth look at the cards.
When one reporter's sensational news about a series of savage killings..........
......fails to make its way into the Arkham Advertiser, your friend at that establishment decides to contact you, nonetheless, deeming the reports the sort of thing that might suit your eccentric curiosities. She's right, of course, and when you head to Northside Station to book your ticket for New Orleans, you can't possibly imagine the full shape of the horrors that await you…
Designed to be played as a standalone adventure, or added to your campaign as a "side-story," Curse of the Rougarou sends you along a bone-chilling hunt through New Orleans and the bayous of southern Louisiana. Its 62 cards come with all the rules, locations, act, agenda, and encounter cards that you'll need to immerse yourself in a mystery full of malign spirits, murderous beasts, and other hazards—some natural and some decidedly unnatural.
Terror Grips New Orleans!
"…The headline was sensationalist. Three killings in nine days was enough to spook a town, sure. But you doubt all of New Orleans is gripped by terror, or even knows about the killings. Still, something piqued your interest."

Ok... so the scenario itself... its not easy, but it was fun! you can play it in two modes. A Stand alone version one of scenario one off, or part of the campaign. There are rewards, and detriments you can take with you into the main campaign too, which is something i really like. The quality of the cards is not quite up to the normal ones, its only very subtle, but you can tell, and even saying that it is higher then most other card games, and once sleeved you will not notice. and it had a pretty nasty smell of "printer" to it when i opened them, so do leave to air for a bit, and they will be fine, i left mine out for a day and they where fine.
Now is this a "must have" purchase since it is the print on demand service, and very hard to get in the UK? well, no..... it doesn't contain any of the main campaign story line, so you don't need to worry about missing any of it. It will though add another really fun stand alone adventure to your options, that can have effects that MAY carry on into your campaign. It was a great adventure, hard though, but if you can pick it up.... then air it and sleeve it and you will have a great fun experience.
